Australia ZOO - Home of the Crocodile Hunter

Welcome to the Asutralia Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter - legendary Steve Irwin! This amazing place is the biggest and the most animal-friendly zoo we have ever been to. Australia Zoo's passionate team is working around-the-clock taking care of each and every small creature. In the Australia Zoo one can find a large number of diverse animals such as koalas, kangaroos, all kind of birds, lizards, turtles, crocodilians but also Sumatran Tiger or Asian Elephants.

Australia Zoo is so large that we spent the whole day to see it all. The zoo crew loves animals - from the tiniest lizard to the biggest elephant! Can you believe that the Australia Zoo is a home to one hundred different species!?! The Irwin Family did a really great job in here!

Kangaroos are still our No. 1 among all those awesome Australian Animals! Aren't they cool?

The hind feet are long and powerful enabling the Red Kangaroo to travel at speeds of 65kph

CRIKEY!!!  Lets take a look at those cold-blooded reptiles:  LIZARDS

Reptiles: Venomous and non-venomous SssssssNAKESssssssss

Reptiles: CROCODILIANS

The Crocodilian family includes, Crocodiles, Alligators, Caimans and Gharials. Australia Zoo is home to three of these species - Saltwater Crocodiles, Freshwater Crocodiles and American Alligators. The Saltwater Crocodile is usually found in deep, dark murky water. It may inhabit fresh or saltwater but is most commonly found in the brackish estuary areas of Northern Australia.

An now Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you...

No worries! In Australia Zoo there are also a bit more friendly animals :-)

Tigers are the largest of the Big Cats with an adult Siberian weighing in at up to 300kg. The magnificent Sumatran Tiger is only found on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Sumatran tigers are the smallest of the tiger subspecies. Just take a look at those majestic animals!

At the end of our trip we went to see the Zoo's new open-range exhibit - Africa!
